Fair Fun!

Wow, I had forgotten how much fun the fair can be, even if I am 33...ok so I turn 34 on Tuesday. ha.

It mostly was a day of junk food but what could be better really?

another homeowner....

Homeownership is in the air! One of my bestest buds closed on her house this week. Way to go Barbara, I am so happy for you and I know you will love your new house just as much as I love mine! Glad we could be there to celebrate it with you!




Tonight I went to watch the AWESOME game against the Hurricanes with the Columbia Clemson Club. Lots of new people to meet!

I also managed to buy myself size 14 jeans tonight! Whoo hoo says the former size 22!! Amazing what lots of hard work will get you!!

I'm a homeowner!!

I finally closed on my house today. Took a little longer than expected thanks to the bank but finally it's done.

What an awesome feeling to buy a house on your OWN!!! Even nicer when you have friends that bring you champagne!!



I may not have any furniture but I have my frieze!!

my monthly post...

Apparently I seem to only update about once a month. I figure no one is really reading anyway so I'm good! ;)

Things that are going on in my life:

- Bootcamp session #2 starts tomorrow so I once again I start my getting up at 4:30 am to kill myself, but all in the name of physical fitness. ha!

- This former lane bryant size 22 wearing gal bought GAP jeans in a 16 last week.

- I close on my OWN house on Wednesday. That is right! In 3 days I will be a homeowner. Me, Myself, and I! Oh, what a feeling. Stainless appliances, granite countertops, oil rubbed bronze fixtures. Can you tell I am excited? It means HUGE sacrifices and careful budgeting on my part but it will be worth it. Not to mention I could not have done it without the support from my parents.

- I spent labor day weekend at the beach with friends. I have spent more time at the beach this summer than I have my whole life. 3 days of laying out, cold beverages and a sister hazel concert. Was bliss.

Oh and I love football season. What I love even more is having an awesome group of friends to share it all with. I am truly blessed!!

House, Boot Camp...

Howdy all!

Ok so I never filled you in anymore about The Ladies Football Clinic but no one commented either so I call us even! ;)

Since I am building a house right now that seems to be what I update about most. Here are a few of the latest happenings. The house is all trimmed out inside as well as the green vinyl is up. I am so excited about the green!! The stone front should be going up soon. I cannot wait!!





On another note I start bootcamp tomorrow at 5:30 AM. What doesn't kill you is supposed to make you stronger right? We shall see! :)

I spent a glorious 4th of july weekend at the beach. 3 days of sun, fun and cold drinks. I have the pink cheeks to prove it! ;) And let me tell you, there is something spectacular about being on the beach underneath an amazing fireworks show. It was unreal!

so guess what I just did....

I bought a FREAKIN HOUSE! I'm still a little dizzy! ha.



This one is not actually mine but one that was already finished, right now I just own dirt! ha. I will update you more as it progresses, but wow! I can't believe I did something like this on my own.

Pool Party

Had a great time with some friends tonight. About 15 or so of us had a pool party.

friends, food and a hot tub...sounds good to me!

I just kept wishing it was really friday the whole time, so much so I think
I will be doing it again on friday.

Check out my insane tan lines. This is called Melanie does not know how to use spray sunscreen. Now I walk around looking like I have some freak rash. Yeah me!


I think we could have gotten another couple people in there.

Food!
I cannot seem to eat enough edamame lately, I wonder if that means I am lacking in some vital nutrient. (To be fair I also ate at Krispy Kreme this week, I wonder what "vital nutriet" that covers!) If you have not tried it yet I found these easy steam bags of it at Target and it makes a great snack. (The edamame that is! There shall be no steaming of donuts!)

Exercise!
I took my first step to running today. I have no idea why I seem to want to run so bad. But I am going to give it a shot! I am following this guide and here is what it recommends week one.

Week one: Walk for 6 minutes, then jog at an easy pace for 1 minute. Repeat 3 times. Aim for three sessions with that same sequence for week one.

I actually found this pretty manageable so I shall keep going!

Fun!
Kelly and Scott had their birthday dinner last night. It was good to get to spend time with them again.
I ended up last night at a bar showing the UFC fight. I really enjoyed it. I have no idea why but I so found myself pulling for Matt Hughes.
I am very excited I get tomorrow off work!
I have been staying up entirely to late lately but it's been worth it.

Are you guys amused I seem to be too lazy to write here? That is why you just seem to get pictures! ha.

Last night I went to a cookout at Molly's new place. (wow, what a townhome!) Gabe and Molly went ALL OUT and had some awesome food.

On a totally different topic if you see that shirt I am wearing it is just a L. That's right not an XL just a L. I don't even know the last time I could say that.

If you look back you see that one year from today I started Jazzercise! Wow has it ever changed my life.

-Almost 50 pounds GONE!
-I consistently work out for a solid hour 3-4 days every week
-I went from a size 22 at lane bryant to a 16 at old navy! (woot!)

Plus now I get these crazy thoughts in my head like I want to start running or work on auditioning to be a jazzercise instructor.

another day another dollar...

Anyone ever feel like all they do is work? I know I sure do! I suppose I will just be thankful I have a job and quit complaining!

Same ole stuff going on with me. Super busy, on the go go go all the time. Whew I am tired just thinking about it!

Jon and Al's daugther Alyssa turns one this week so I will get to see them this weekend. I look forward to it.

Ok since this is a pretty pointless post I will at least include a picture.

a few things...

- I just spent a week at the beach with friends. What an AWESOME thing to do.
- I have been house hunting. Wow, I can't believe I am going to be owning my own house.
- Dating. Ha. Interesting to say the very least.
- Working on taking my training up to the next level. What is next? Running? A mini marathon? I just feel like I need to do more. I want to be a lean mean buff machine! (A girl can dream right?)

long week.

Boy was it a long week for me. I was so glad when the weekend got here! I am so thankful for all the awesome friends in my life because sometimes I just don't think I could make it without them!

I haven't been able to jazzercise this week and it has really affected me. I have a heel injury and it is keeping me sidelined. I am going to have to suck it up and go see someone about it. It is just not getting better. I also had some minor vein surgery this week. (Can you say over 100 shots in a 12 inch area - YOW!) So that was also another reason keeping me from working out.

I had so much fun today at the St. Patricks Day 5 points celebration. A whole day of live bands, friends and fun. Not to mention I found a new band I really enjoyed. The Blue Dogs. Woot!
