8 things...

So Mrs. Andrea tagged me to do the 8 random things so I thought I would honor her request. However I am going to do it as a 2 parter! Here are the first 4.

1. I pick apart most foods if they have layers. It started many years ago with things such as the swiss cake roll and kit kat and now pretty much is just about everything. Sandwiches, desserts, if it has any sort of layers they are coming apart. One of my all time favorites are the flaky layer biscuits. YUM.

2. I think sirius radio is one of the best things ever (next to DVR!). Mat got it for me one year for Christmas and I LOVE it. I could not do without it. I am a HUGE 80's music fanatic and they have several stations devoted to just 80's music. Nothing beats driving home from work belting out "Walking on Sunshine" at the top of your lungs.

3. ok really odd one here....I smell cups before I use them. I know. I'm a freak right. It started when I was a kid. I vaguely remember an incident about getting some water to drink and bubbles forming in the cup from leftover soap residue. I don't really know now if I'm hoping to "sniff out" the soap but either way I still do it. I let this pass in restaurants. :)

4. I love pets. I would have 10 if Mat would let me. We currently are a 3 pet household. My two cats which I got in college, Bailey and Brew, and Gracie our Boston Terrier. I love the fact they all meet me at the door after being gone, that they all want personal attention in their own way, and just the general love and devotion they give you. We never had an indoor pet when I was a kid so maybe I'm just over compensating now but I will aways have pets!

New Post!

Ok so Sara was giving me a hard time about my lack of posting ;) so here ya go!


The last couple weeks have just felt like the "daily grind" over and over. Not exactly post worthy. I am sooooo ready for a vacation. Just have to hold out a little longer.

On a positive note we finally bought a new sofa. I do believe I can now finally say no more college furniture.

I have been doing a lot of cooking lately. I would like to start posting food pictures, recipes etc. So look for that coming soon!

Sara - Janice told me it was in the 70's where you are. I am so jealous! We have been having 100+ days here now for weeks!

hot hot hot!

The 100 plus temperatures and heat index are killing me. I can hardly seem to function. I really hope this heat ends soon.


My parents drove out from SC this weekend for a visit. It was really nice to get to spend some time with them. We did a "touristy" thing and went to go see the ducks march at the PeabodyHotel. I had planned on getting some pictures but there were tons of people there, we could hardly see. I am not sure if it is like that daily or if we just went on a really busy day. I did manage to snap a picture of my parents and then one of Mat and myself.

Back to work tomorrow. Ugh, sadly that's the way things go. Thank goodness we are taking a vacation soon!!

So Hot...

Wow, it is so hot I can barely function. I mean its in the 100's here this week and its about all I can do to do anything. Unfortunately a large part of my job involves going outside. UGH!

I am also just getting over a cold. It sure sucks to be sick when its 100 out. It just seems to compound things, at least when it's cold I feel justified for getting sick. ha!

Ok enough whining out of me.

the news

I really need to stop watching the news. It is one thing to be informed. It is another to worry and fret over things I can't control. I just can't seem to stop reading cnn or the local news site and all the horrible things going on. I don't know if I was just totally oblivious to them before but it seems like so many bad things are happening.

My parents are on a trip to london and I'm so worried "terrorist" are going to try to blow up the plane or the london underground

We are taking a trip soon and flying and I am worried something will happen to that flight.

I worry when Mat drives to work if he got there ok.

and on and on and on......

I really think I need to talk to someone about this. I must stop this insane worrying!
